At Treehouse Learning Center, our teachers and staff are at the heart of what makes our childcare exceptional. We have a rigorous hiring process to ensure we recruit passionate and dedicated individuals who love working with children.
Our Hiring Philosophy
When interviewing potential new hires, we look for several key qualities:
- A passion for children – First and foremost, we want teachers who genuinely enjoy spending their days with young kids. We look for nurturing and patient individuals.
- Strong communication abilities – Our staff need to effectively communicate with both children and parents on a daily basis. We look for warm, engaging personalities.
- Enthusiasm for early childhood development – Our teachers must be eager to actively participate in each child’s learning and developmental journey.
We also contact references and conduct thorough background checks on all potential hires to ensure we are maintaining a safe, high-quality environment.
Continuous Training & Education
The education of our staff does not stop once they are hired. We believe strongly in continuous improvement, both on an individual level and as a team.
All new staff go through an extensive orientation process that includes:
- First aid and CPR certification
- Child abuse awareness and reporting
- Communicable disease recognition and prevention
- Review of state childcare regulations and standards
- Guided tours of the classroom environments
- Introduction to our educational philosophy and curriculum
In addition, teachers participate in regular professional development on early childhood topics, as well as external training conferences and classes. We strive to stay in tune with the latest research and best practices in education and early child development.
Teachers also pursue individualized professional development plans with goals tailored to their specific classroom needs. Plans may include completing Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials, taking college early childhood education courses or mentorship.
