How Does THLC Keep Kids Safe?
We know that above all else, you as parents want your child to to thrive in a safe and healthy learning environment. Here at Treehouse Learning Center, we try to go above and beyond in our safety and discipline measures to make sure your child has the best educational experience possible.
For starters, every one of our staff members are CPR and First Aid Certified. This means that no matter what, your child will be in the presence of a safe, trained adult in case of an emergency. We also are extremely careful when it comes to proper hygiene and cleanliness. It;s no secret that little ones are often messy – which is part of being a kid! However, we try to make sure all our kids stay as healthy as possible and reduce the spread of germs. Before and after our meals as well as in between different activities and playtime, we make sure that each child thoroughly washes their hands. Instilling this habit early is a great way to keep kids healthier.
Many parents have concerns about different daycares and their disciplinary policies. We do everything we can to make sure kids get along and enjoy being able to play and learn together. However, we know that with little ones, the occasional mishap or tantrum is bound to happen eventually – and we know how to take care of the situation in a calm, swift manner.
During the enrollment process, we give all our parents a brief survey to describe the typical behavior patterns of their child so we can tailor our responses accordingly. We try to understand many different things about your child, and will try and find out things such as:
- How does your child typically react when they become frustrated?
- What is something that usually calms your child down if they are angry?
- Any tips or tricks to helping your child through these emotions?
There definitely is not a cookie-cutter approach to making kids feel better and de-escalating fits and tantrums. That’s why we try to get to know your child and your family as much as possible, so we can react in a way that your child understands and better responds to. All of our staff make sure to speak in calm, direct tones to have a conversation with a child about a behavioral problem or mistake. For our older kids, we try to institute things like timeout to help them reflect on their behavior and learn from it. All of these tactics are part of making your child feel safer and more secure while they’re at daycare, ultimately leading to better learning and social adaptation.
COVID-19 Precautions
With the uncertainty of COVID-19, THLC is doing everything possible to keep your child safe and healthy during these times. We have implemented many different precautionary measures to protect our kids, family members and staff.
Currently, everyone is required to wear a facemask before entering the facility, and hand sanitizer is provided right at the front door. For everyone’s safety, no parents or family members are allowed in the classrooms at this time. We will check and log your child’s temperature, and one of our staff will come and walk your child to their classroom.
Our classrooms ratios are currently reduced, and each age group is designated a specific time for playtime and meals to minimize exposure to other children. Each teacher stays with one room of kids for the day, and then takes each child out to their parents during pick-up time.
Treehouse Learning Center always has and always will keep an emphasis on the health, safety and overall well-being of each and every child in our care. That’s why we have gained the recognition of being SUTQ Approved among other awards and achievements. We look forward to welcoming your child to our center and watching their learning grow.
